    How long have you banked with them?: 11 years

    Why do you bank with them?: Great customer service, you speak with real people who answer the phone. If I need anything from them, like new checks, it is in the mail that day. Negotiate new rates on GICs over the phone and it is completed. Like service should be.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Interest rates are decent. my bank of 45 years is not flexible.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: cannot think of anything

    General comments: Keep providing great customer service and have people answer the phones.

    Why do you bank with them?: I don’t know. Will be phasing out all GICs.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Since merger with new people I don’t like them.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Better customer service on phone, customer should be able to update GIC to pay annually and direct to savings account @ maturity. New system no longer shows what happens at maturity.

    General comments: They suck.

    Why do you bank with them?: Always speak to a representative right away. Straight forward and higher rates than banks.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Efficient and will hold rate for you. Fees are lower than in some other provinces. Personable/Friendly.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: More advertising as not as well known as larger banks/credit unions. Not well known across provinces.

    General comments: Would recommend as in "no fuss". No upselling their own interests.

    Why do you bank with them?: 1.. Customer service: No waiting. No hassle. Pleasant people. For a "bank", interest rates are pretty good. Provincial guarantee.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Customer service.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Nothing much. Just keep doing what they do best.

    Why do you bank with them?: Decent rates plus they accept Québec customers.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Rates, simple interface, phenomenal customer service.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: None that I can suggest. Stay the course in fact, it's working!

    General comments: Opening a savings account with them shortly as my previous experience with them was highly positive.

    How long have you banked with them?: Only a couple of months. I moved my retirement savings from a big bank cause they never seemed able to give me a break, despite 20+ years of banking there. The big banks are in the news with a lot of rate fixing scandals lately. Lately they are screwing us majorly by not passing on the Bank of Canada rate reductions.

    Why do you bank with them?: They came out first in a Financial Post interest rate comparison. I live in BC and was a little bit worried to send my $$ so far, but I could be realistic and consider them a credit union like all the ones we have and besides I'm comfortable with virtual banking. I'd been wanting to move to a credit union for a while. Every $ you spend is a vote for the kind of world you want to live in.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: They are very prompt, friendly and personable.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: I would like to see them get more customers and take all the big banks' customers away.

    General comments: Time for change!

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Nothing - well balanced organisation

    General comments: No fuss > straight forward applications processed promptly. Extremely simple & easy to check online accounts details & records.

    Why do you bank with them?: Unlimited Deposit Insurance through the Deposit Guarantee Corp of Manitoba and high interest rates

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Fantastic customer service. They answer the phone quickly and always answer my questions. Fairly easy to setup electronic transfers through other banks, wish AF had a way to do this from their end.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Lower fees, they charge $1 per transfer out after 1 free. You must send a connected account agreement for joint holders to see each others accounts which seems a little strange.

    General comments: Nothing else

    Why do you bank with them?: Top rates. Seemingly a solid company with some form of a guarantee by Corp. of Manitoba.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Friendly, helpful customer service. Immediate live person, no menus, wait. Excellent rates.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: One yearly statement skipped. But a call confirmed all the info in a friendly, prompt manner.

    General comments: Main concern is the guarantee. Should there be a market collapse does the Corporation of Manitoba back all deposits fully? And interest? One may not know for sure until it happens!
