My wife got hers Jan 30. She has been an Ontario resident for 45 years and has paid taxes every single year.

I'm still waiting for mine on Feb 22. Resident for 71 years and paying taxes for 50+ years. Same last name. Same mailing address. Still living according to the CRA ...

Mine finally got here, 28 days after my wife's arrived.

I think the Ontario part of Canada Post's network has been quite busy recently.

In addition to those Ontario $200 rebate cheques, there were those mailed voter info cards for the provincial election that was called. There is also all those T3, T5, and other tax slips being mailed around this time by the financial institutions that are mostly based in Ontario.

Not a very effective bribe if it's not there by election day!

In this household, $600 was received, and none of us needs it.
Clearly a waste on the part of this gov't as far as we're concerned. I'd much rather see the money go to health care or education, which will help us all in the long run.
It's a bribe all right, but not necessarily a successful one. For those who do need it, it's a drop in the bucket of need and won't change their prospects.

In case somebody got a hold of your cheque, would he/she be able to cash it?

I agree. But if I'm going to pay for yours, you might as well pay for mine.... 🙂

The mail guy handed us our mail cards as we were getting back to the house from voting.

Likewise - voting cards were in mailbox after we'd voted! If you can't run an election properly how are we supposed to trust you to build a $100T tunnel?? Can't blame Canada Post as they've had no problem delivering the unaddressed mail.

Got my bribes for the adults but not the kids.

Worked because he got in big time.

Then again he is the only guy that gives back, saved me real money with license plate renewals, they were getting out of hand with 4 vehicles and two year terms. Was hundreds of dollars I can now put toward insurance costs instead.

The Elections Ontario website states that voter cards were mailed out between Feb. 17 and Feb. 22. A bit late but everyone should have received the card by Feb 23 if Canada Post was blameless.

The Canada Post reference was a tongue in cheek comment. But, mailing as late as Sat Feb 22 means induction into Canada Post system on Monday Feb 24 most likely, leaving only 2 days for delivery prior to election day.

Anyway, it was easy to vote with ID. Makes you wonder why they bother mailing cards anyway! It certainly doesn't appear to improve voter turnout.
