great rates, im a little hesitant given RBCs mortgage increase. I have a feeling if theyre expecting BOC increases, rate increases are just around the corner as well, and even a 1 year almost seem not worth taking the risk. Especially when you could sit at 3.00 in a savings account with simplii till february 28 well after BOC has announced
just my 2 cents. Seeing what you guys think

TD increased their mortgage rate today. As mentioned, I think more and higher offers are coming as BOC might increase the rate soon.

Simplii for now till end of Feb and see what happens.

We have Tang at 2.5% until May 31 and Simplii at 3% until Feb. 28. Why 1 year GIC at 2.4%?

Though the WealthOne site says the 1-year rate gic is 2.4% when you go to buy one online by moving money from your savings account it shows a 1.6% rate for the 1-year gic.

I noticed that too, Bill. Perhaps best to call them, and log the details of your call including the name of the CSR...or consider buying the W1 GIC through a GIC broker.

I did call them, was news to CSR, said he'll pass it on to get it fixed. My money's on hold for 10 calendar days, I'll check it again then.

I figure it's a wait and see for more rate hikes. I'm getting 2.5 at Tang till end of May and the rest is at EQ getting 2.3. Nothing locked in.
