I don't understand the date restrictions - open before June 15 and deposit before July 31?

Save the trouble, go for Tangerine. (Anyway, Tangerine is owned by Scotiabank.)

This really got me thinking....
Does Scotia have some liquidity problem lately, consider they keep looking for more deposit.

That's for their previous 2% offer: ½% Bonus Interest that's in addition to the usual ¾% Premium Interest + ¾% Regular Interest.

I don't think one could get the 2% offer. June 15 is long past. At best, one could qualify for the usual ¾% Premium Interest + ¾% Regular Interest = 1½% mentioned by highin.

Note that the ¾% Premium Interest is conditional on $5,000 minimum balance and no withdrawals during each 90-day period:

The Momentum Savings Premium will be paid at the end of each 90 day period during which

  1. you do not initiate or permit any debit transaction, and
  2. your Daily Balance does not fall below the minimum balance required ("Momentum Savings Premium Period").

If either, or both, of these two conditions is not met you will forego any Momentum Savings Premium not yet posted to your account and no Momentum Savings Premium Period will have been completed.
