While Tangerine has the right to change any rate they want without notice, its just arrogant if I treat them as a human being. To me its like playing game with their customers however they want it....
If Oaken and some other FI can give an advance notice re rate change, why is it so hard for Tangerine, other than they are just incompetent or dont care about their customers ?
And to rant further, their CS rep are the worst of the bunch, by far....

I just logged into my Tangerine account to confirm the transaction that I entered on Wednesday to buy the 5yr GIC at 3.2% went through & I'm happy to report it did. I also noticed I have been given a new offer of 2.8% until August in my savings account so I will transfer my money from Laurentian over to Tangerine for the duration of the offer or until something better arrives.

Honestly I'm surprised by your answer. With governments telling us to stay home, the inability to travel and with so many stores and businesses closed, I have more time than I know what to do with it. Watching what is happening in the financial world occupies a tiny, tiny part of my day.
But like I said earlier, checking out the GIC rates on a daily basis is something I've been doing for a very long time. I find it hard to believe anyone could be so busy to not be able to spend a few minutes weekdays to be aware of what is happening.
I'm surprised that you're surprised by my answer. Perhaps you could use some of your endless spare time to learn more about the absolute exhaustion of the people who are holding together our health care system right now. And they aren't the only ones.

Suckers! No more taking chances with Tangerine. I moved one GIC from Oaken and now I am trying to figure out what to do. Good they have the 2.75% offer till end of June.
Called Oaken and cancelled the 2 other GICs transfers. Now hoping Oaken be decent and keep their current rates till my GICs mature in 2-3 weeks so I get the "good" rates for another 2 years. 2.75%.
