Are those of you receiving this 6% offer on an existing promo now? (I realize it's unlikely)
I'm on existing promo of 5.25% until October 31. And not getting any of these new offers, even after calling and explaining that my wife is getting them. Not quite sure what to do...already have a Meridian account, so can't take advantage of that. Thinking of opening a Simplii account; wondering if it's worth the bother, and also wondering if I'll get a good offer from Tangerine seconds after I pull and move to Simplii at the end of October. Musical chairs.

I was on a 5.0% promo from 2022/12/01 to 2023/04/30 that got extended to 2023/07/31. As of today, I'm now at 6.0% thru 2024/01/31.
My spouse is on a 5.25% promo from 2023/03/01 to 2023/07/31 that got extended to 2023/10/31.
We've been shuffling $ between TNG accounts ...

Exactly the same happen to me and my wife. So now the wife will get one in November cuz hers ends this month.. Thats how it been working for us.. Every 2 months after my promo ends I usually always get another promo. Wife as well.. same routine.

You never can be 100% sure, spouse's last one ended July 31 and no offer since, that's after years of predictability pretty much as you describe, victor6433. Uncharacteristically spouse piled a bunch of dough into the 1 year GIC at 5.95%, maybe that's affecting it.
Yes my wife did as well 100K for a gic @5.50.. So maybe she won't get the November offer.. it would be the first time though that she didn't receive 1 after me.

My last offer ended June 30 and no offers since. I think I have the record for longest drought.

You all may be aware but I noticed that transfers from chequing to savings are eligible. So even if you’ve already got money there in chequing, you could be eligible for this promo.
Yeah thats one of the loophole still exists in their system.
Also for those with GIC with them, always have ur maturity instruction to be paid to chequing account and not your savings account for the exact same purpose. I test it and it works. So maturing GIC going into the chequing account first, and then transfer it over to savings. That amount qualifies as new money and earn any promo rate you have at the time. If its a straight deposit from a maturing GIC into the savings, it wont count.

Just to verify this works. I just did this with a maturing GIC and just before it matured I changed it to go into chequing. Then transferred to savings and I see with the August interest payout on the 5.5% offer they did pay on the GIC amount.....FANTASTIC!
