I want to share my personal experience on this forum.
Tangerine:
Apply for account = July 19
Confirmation email = July 19
Confirmed my identity = July 21
Order free cheques = July 23
Received blank cheques and debit card = July 30
Simplii:
Apply for account = July 24
Confirmation email = July 24
I am still waiting for secure email regarding signature. Absolutely zero progress since day 1!
I am not happy about it. I will close my account if I do not qualify for $200.

Canadianbull , if you look back at the posts pertaining to their targetted promos you will find that Simplii wasn't able to send emails to some of its customers to confirm promo enrollment and I was one of them. Eventually received promo interest but they just could not or would not send confirmation email. From what I have read it continues to be a problem and if you are one of the affected customers you will likely become even more frustrated. They are a long established online bank that still has problems sending emails so you may be in for a long wait.

I have lots of experience with simpliiIf you pick up the phone and talk to them they are super friendly and will usually resolve your situation quickly. I am a long time client since the old day of PC and they treat me really well when I call in.
Thanks for your suggestion. I called them today and found out they somehow missed to send me signature email. I finally received the email. Now I am waiting on debit card. So far all is back on track and yes I do qualify for $200 as long as I meet the requirements.
Once I have access to my account I will set 3 automatic bill payments to meet the requirements.
