I have searched Tangerine's website but can't find information as to what their daily, weekly and/or monthly transfer out limits are. (I am not referring to e-transfers.) Does anyone know where I can find that info?

IIRC, using a Tang link, you can transfer up to 100K CAD (50K USD) / day. However, if you call into a CSR, it can be unlimited.

Today, April 25, 2022, I tried to transfer money from Tangerine. By trial and error, I have found their new daily transfer out limit: $25,000
It is also cumulative, you can't send multiple transfers back to back, with total exceeding $25,000.

If I recall correctly, last time I transferred money out of Tangerine, which were quite long time ago, transfer out limit was $50,000 per transaction, non cumulative. As I needed to move almost $100K, I just split it by two transactions.

It appears, Tangerine is getting more and more restrictive with its transfer out limits.

Not sure if this has changed too but to go over their daily online transfer limits, you could just call in and they would process it. Have you tried that recently?

There should be NO limit pulling money from Tang so if you initiate transfer from let say EQ you can pull as much as you want.
Initiating transfer from Tang (push) usually has a limit but agent can override it.

The change to the transfer limit occurred around the @ 28 March. I had read if you need to transfer more, another option is to push funds from the chequing account as it has it's own limit of $25,000. Alternatively, as already mentioned, you can call in and request a much higher amount which could then give Tangerine the opportunity to make you an offer to keep the funds with them if they so desired.

My personal policy is not to phone banks, unless it is for security reasons such as lost debit/credit card.
I just make notice when bank becomes less convenient when it comes to activities I can do with my account over the Internet, and adjust my relationship with than bank correspondingly.

Kudos to you. Upvote.

I have the same policy. In addition, I do not get agitated to the point of severing the relationship (though I've been tempted) as you never know when the Offers might appear in the future. (As long as there aren't fees i.e. move $1 here and there to avoid dormant fees).

A page from the banks policy...It's business, not personal.

Hmm ... I must Not be looking in the right place(s), and Tangerine's FAQ's don't seem to help.

Where is it documented that Tangerine's daily EFT 'transfer-out' limit is now only $25K (without calling in) ?

Or does one just have to find out, by trial & error ? sf-confused

Why would you call in and waste an hour waiting on the phone when you can log in and find out in a minute ?
I did and it's now 25k, just another reason to eventually give up on their silly games forcing customers to phone in and beg.sf-yell

How/Where on their site did you find out the transfer-out limit is now $25K ?

Thanks,

When you said,
"Or does one just have to find out, by trial & error ?"
I understood that to mean that you had been thinking about calling in sf-wink
Anyway, all I did was log in to my wife's account and tried to transfer out 26k and it was refused, 25k no problem, then I simply cancelled the transfer.

Well, Tang site has no info about transfer limit. All that was left to do is ask the bot...

"The most you can transfer online from your Tangerine Account to your linked external account is $25,000 per day.
For a higher amount, please contact us."

I was unable to do a transfer today out of my Tangerine savings account because it was over my daily transfer limit and when I called in, the Tangerine representative informed me that the daily transfer limit has been dropped again to only $15,000 per day. This small limit is totally unacceptable, especially with the wait times that you have to be on hold for to get them to withdraw a larger amount.

    Ditto

Tang's transfer-out limit has been $25K/day for a while now (unless they just changed it today). It's the lowest limit for all the FIs I deal with. sf-confused

I just did a transfer out today of $25K as well. Tried twice that, but no go. It is possible, if you phone them they will do more but not sure. Don't want to spend and hour waiting for a reply. More tomorrow. One thing though, usually only takes one or two days to arrive at CIBC and they don't ever do a hold of funds with me.

They will do more if you call (and wait an hour or so.)
