The ones in NB are probably working in the call centre. The 4 in MB must be kind of lonely! I guess there's not much work for them in a province that has so many credit unions offering much better rates.
There is one small location on the North Side of the City....size of a construction trailer that you would see on a job site where the operations are run from....and usually only two people in there at a time...

That's correct. Moncton, to be exact. Many are bilingual, though not exclusively anymore. The two contact centres are in Moncton and Toronto. The ones in Manitoba might even be temporary part- and full-time employees working in a Pop-Up Location as I don't even think Tangerine has a Cafe in that province. They probably report to a regional manager for Alberta, who checks in on them periodically.
I like to compare the employee data with the prior year. I recommend checking out last year's report and see how it compares.
Interestingly, HSBC Bank Canada had over 10,000 or 11,000 employees just 10 years ago, in 2008, and as of 2016, had little better than 5000 or 6000.

Ah, thanks for confirming the size of the location. Indeed, what you've described is a Tangerine Pop-Up Location, not a full-fledged Cafe. Very similar to their shopping mall-based Kiosks, except that it is outdoors so they can't have a Kiosk. Most likely employees are on recurring temporary contracts, too. Might not even have an ABM, definitely not a permanent one.
If Scotiabank's eye for cost cutting bulges, they could get sacked with a few weeks notice and the trailer moved in as little time, since they mostly exist to verify ID for those without cheques and Tangerine could easily just refer people to Canada Post, which they're already doing.

So, I looked up their Public Accountability Statement for Tangerine and noticed that they moved their Calgary Cafe from the downtown core on 6th Avenue SW to 17th Avenue SW, but not necessarily in the trendiest, uptown part of 17th Avenue, for those familiar with Calgary. Attached is a screenshot from last spring, before the new location opened.
It's definitely in a much more "lower rent" district. Definitely some real estate cost savings at play here! Note their new tenant "neighbours". Looks like Bell Mobility might've been doing some real estate cost savings by closing Bell store locations, too. It looks like Tangerine took over the space of a former Bell store and a newspaper stand/convenience store. 🙂

Yeah it's a pop up location. It's on land that used to be a bus loop for the buses to turn around (now its farther north... As the city expanded)
There is no ATM in there, I think their toilets might even be porta potties... Definitely not a permanent location. Lol

Tangerine total number of employees in Canada as of October 31, 2017 was 1,135.Province of Employment :
Alberta 10
British Columbia 12
Manitoba 4
New Brunswick 157
Ontario 922
Québec 30That is a lot for a bank without typical bank branches and with only 5 Tangerine Café Locations.
Yet their Call wait times are horrible these days. Also their web chat is almost impossible to get through, they are always busy 24/7.
Things were better a year back or so.
