Noticed on another forum that Tangerine has automatically extended the expiry date for promos ending April 30th to July 31st. Many folks are stating they are seeing the extension in Insights, so your mileage may vary. Noticed nothing in Insights, looked at the savings account details and could see the extension. No acceptance is required, it's just simply extended and will save having to move funds to Motive. It would seem Tangerine has come up with another strategy to maintain deposits, best one yet in my view.

Thanks for the info, JC, same here. It shows up in Insights plus in the usual spot under Profiles, Bonuses and Contests, everything looks the same except end date has been changed, no email sent, low key.
Funny, on April 9 they sent out the usual reminder that bonus rate coming to end on April 30 but I guess they changed their minds. Haven't seen this before either, everybody's gonna be lovin' on them now.

I logged in and discovered the same thing. I have two accounts to Jul 31 at 5.0% and my wife has two at 5.25% also to Jul 31.

Thats funny, mine with Tangerine is 5.25% until 31 July and not 5.35%...
I wonder if they will extend then as well.

Thanks JohnCash, I received the July 1st 5% extension today. I do not know if this extension is due to lottery luck, given to everyone/almost everyone or if my very recent 25k withdraw had something to do with it.

Weird situation at TNG ...
After hearing about extensions, I logged in yesterday. No front page message and no Insight. Then I went to my HISA Account Details and there it was a new end date on 5%.
I just went back again 24 hours later. Still no front page message but there is now a new Insight. Nothing to accept just a message to say earn more ...

My promo is 5% till June 30, no extension and no rate increase for me.
Not complaining, my current Tangerine promo is better than any other HISA I have and I appreciate that, just stating the fact.

Our extensions appear to have come since about 1 week ago, or about 3 weeks before the Apr 30 expiry of the original offer.
You still have 2 1/2 months ago. Give it time ...

Alexandre, this extension was for the Apr 30 expiry promo only, it appears. Makes sense they'd assess their needs and approach re the June 30 ending promo sometime in June, if this is a harbinger of a new technique to manage deposit levels.

Same here, was there this morning when I checked after reading this post.
Has Tangerine got tired of seeing money flow out to other institutions on the first of the month? Time will tell.

its interesting they are now bunching up both the 5% and the newer 5.25% rate promo both ending Jul 31. Post Jul31, they prob only offer 4.75-5% as their best promo to the new batch of qualifying customers.
