Tangerine's non-registered 18 Mo. GIC is down to 3.5% now.

Their Registered rates (RIFs,RSPs,TFSAs) are a little better.

1yr @3.5%
2-4yrs @ 3.55% and
5yr@3.6%

My "new" HISA rate from them for 5 months Jan through May is at 3.25%

Manulife Bank currently offers 4.7% for 4 months. And it is for everybody, no need to win the lottery. True, the rate can go down anytime, but it is very likely to remain over 3.25% for the entire period.

When does the 4 months end? I was told mine ends on February 26th (a few days hence).

The four-month "Promotional Period" ends 120 days from the date the Manulife Advantage account is opened.

Yes, the old promotion ends on Feb. 26.
The new promotion is for 120 days after opening a new advantage account - before March 10, though.
I do not have much experience with Manuife Bank, but I suppose that you must cleanup your existing account, then open a new account and fund it from outside Manulife Bank. I believe that a simple transfer between your old account into your new account will NOT do.
Please check the official promotion for details. It should pop-up when you log into your existing Manulife Bank account.

I have several years' experience with Manulife Bank. I think they require a new account to make it easier to track each promo. Messes up your debit card at the ATM with too many accounts though.

Maybe we should start a new thread instead of bringing Manulife into a Tangerine thread?

Found it! There is a dedicated thread about the Manulife offer.
