Don't give up. As much as their games are annoying, they'll still play. I closed my accounts with Tangerine last November. Out of curiosity, I logged in a few weeks ago and noticed, even though I had no accounts, all of my info was still there. I decided, if they're not going to delete me completely, I might as well request a new savings and US account and within a month of doing that, I received the 2.6% offer (May to September), for both.

Interesting strategy, I'll consider doing the same. I have a 2.2% offer May 3 until November 30 that I've yet to accept, deadline being May 31. The 2.2% is too low for such a long duration, so your idea might be worth considering. Alternatively, I could wait until the current offer expires and see if I get targeted again for a higher offer.
