Damn! I guess this time I won't be offered a new promo rate. I emptied out my accounts at Tangerine and sent everything over to Achieva, but I'm still waiting for the possibility.5.75% sounds great!
My spouse was on 5.0% until Mar 31.
I'm on 5.5% thru Jun 30.
So, our $ are currently on my 5.5%.
My spouse just received and accepted the 5.75% thru Sep 30.
So, our $ are moving ...

I was offered the same rate but only until July 31. I was told it was an extension of the 6% offer I had. The challenge was that the 5.75% was based on the starting balance from December 4, 2023. My balance was much higher then, in December, so this 5.75% wouldn't work for me. The person I spoke to at Tangerine said to wait a couple months and see if a better offer comes along.

I emptied my Tang accounts on Apr 30, despite getting the upcoming 5.5% offer (till Jul 31). I did not activate it. Because I had a similar one at competition. It would've been easier to just keep funds at Tang. But I wanted to send a signal that I don't appreciate these games and competition does exist.
Lo and behold, I now got the 5.75% till Sep 30th.
Question is, do I activate this one or will there be a 6% sooner or later?

The 5.75% is only offered to new customers, not new money, unfortunately.
I still haven't received any offers for promo rates this round, bummer, I've had a good run with getting decent rates.
Although I've emptied my accounts at Tangerine (over to Achieva), but I'm wondering if it's worth calling Tangerine and ask for a better rate than Achieva's current 3.60%. I won't bother moving $ back unless it's at least 4%+, but nothing to lose so...

One can do better than 3.60% with a cashable variable rate GIC if one banks at Bank of Montreal, Canadian Western Bank, CIBC, or RBC Royal Bank:
4.75% ($5,000 min.) RBC Prime-Linked Cashable one-year GIC
4.60% ($1,000 min.) Canadian Western Bank floating rate redeemable GIC
4.50% ($1,000 min.) CIBC Variable Rate GIC
4.25% ($5,000 min.) BMO Variable Rate GIC
