With the news regarding ING selling out to Scotia recently I thought I'd recap all the promotions I see right now.. Maybe a gift before you leave ING etc..

Looks Like ING is giving 2.5% interest on their ISA account from April 1 to June 30/13. I was going to move alot of my money to Peoples Trust today but when I seen that on ING's website, that's not bad. It says you can't "fund" your ISA with other ING accounts like Thrive or GIC's accounts with ING but it should be ok to send money from the credit unions and from your other "big 5" bank accounts. Your statement each month from ING until the sale is over will say "Savings Sale Bonus Rate Interest". Here's the link....

Wish they would quit with all the gimmicky promotions and just go back to giving better than average rates all the time. My 90 day RSP GIC just expired and is back to the old 1.35% "HISA" because i feel foolish locking it in to a 5 yr at 2.25%. Did just drain the PT account and moved it and my ASP to ING though. Thanx for the heads up. Will move it back July 1. sf-wink

Let's hope someone else offers a 'special bonus rate' over 2 percent in July.

I agree James, it would be nice if somebody else offers a promotion like that in July. I am not a fan of these short term Promotions or chasing rates all the time but I must say this one is good when rates are anywhere from 1.20% (BMO Smart Saver) to 1.90% (Peoples Trust and CDF). Its not "Locked in" so why not right? It would be nice if the Bank of Canada will increase the base rate from 1% this month but I doubt they will. The only thing we can do is pay attention to Mark Carney's "language" of a rate increase or not come this month on April 17/13. That's when the next announcement date is.
