Hi all,
Does anyone have actual experience transferring funds between HSBC (like from their High Rate Savings Account) to Tangerine? Is it easy to transfer large amounts online without fees if the money is "pulled" into the Tangerine account on the Tangerine side (provided the HSBC HRSA is successfully linked)?

I did try posting within a thread at the HSBC subforum, but I think that forum is much less active than the Tangerine forum, so I thought I would try asking directly here.

Thanks for any help/insight. I'm trying to see if it is even worth the hassle of opening the HSBC HRSA if it ends up being hard accessing the money later.

I have tried the HSBC ==> Tang transfer with Tang links and found them to be of no problem. They had the usual limitations (i.e. 100K max), but that could be changed with a phone call to Tang.

However, I will urge caution in starting accounts with HSBC.

The $100K limit is for Tangerine / online transaction. A phone call to Tang can get the teller to raise it.

Personally, I would never click a button on any online banking website to transfer anything over $25k in a single transaction. Regardless of the cause of any failure, I'd feel more stress than any of the parties involved and I'm sure I'd be held responsible for more of the legwork to resolve...

I did 6 figures recently to my daughter. Both of us sat at our respective TD branches to ensure that when my Teller sent, her Teller received.
