I got a similar offer, but the rate was 5.1%.

Do the terms mean that I don't need to move money out of the savings accounts, and then back in again after August 1 in order to get the new bonus interest?

I had next to nothing in my Tang savings accounts before March 5 of this year, but moved funds in when I got the current 5.25% bonus offer.

I've got 4.6% offer, too.

I am currently on 4.75% offer till end of July. This must have been promo offer extension, with 0.15% downsize.

I suspect Tangerine may have enough AI capacity to deal individually or batches of individuals. Hold it or fold it on a monthly basis. That's my take.

It looks, sounds & tastes like an 'Extension', but Tangerine calls it; "A New Savings Offer".

Whatever ... they're offering me three full months @ 4.60%.

We take what you can, eh ❗ sf-wink

If it were extension of current promo, it should have been the same rate.

Got the same offer: You’ll earn 4.60%* interest from August 1, 2024 until October 31, 2024
There are other options like EQ Notice now, let's see might use it for some funds.

The rate may be different, but the rest of the terms/conditions have a 'Very Strong Smell' of a Tangerine three month Extension, that includes $$$ Already deposited way back in March.

Call it what we will ... it is what it is. sf-smile

Data point: My most recent extension, running May 1 - July 31 (5.75%) was an extension , but with a different rate than my Dec 5 - April 30 (approx. 5 months) offer.
I have not received an email, or other notification, yet, of another extension effective Aug 1, but my notification (email) came on April 25, for the May 1 offer, so I will watch, and hope... otherwise, Tangerine knows what I will do...

Tangerine has never extended an extension offer. You normally get a new money offer ( 5 months ) , possibly followed by an extension offer ( 3 months ). Move your funds and wait for a new money offer. Historical patterns suggest if you receive a new money offer, it will likely be next month, or the following month.

I have not received a new offer yet now, my current one will end soon on July 31. Last time I called Tangerine to move out my fund at the end of April before offer ended, he put me on hold for a long time , I told him " provide me a rate promotion, then I will move back the fund" . After days, I received a new offer for the time from May 1, I guessed it is better to call Tangerine to move out your fund, let them know if they do not give you good rate offer, no money in Tangerine account anymore.

We had a 5.5% that ended Jun 30 and a 5.75% ending Sep 30.

We're hoping for something new soon ...

No word yet of any new offer for me, as my bonus rate (5.75%) expires after July 31. So, the majority of my funds at Tangerine are now moved over to chequing, in hopes of a new offer before too long, and the ability to start such a new offer with a low starting balance in the HISA.

Did Tangerine give you promotional interest for the fund you moved from Tangerine Chequing to Savings account? Was it eligible to get promotional interest for the fund from Tangerine Chequing account, not external bank?

As I recall with the last offer, the balance they used was that in the affected accounts, which did not include chequing. For me, parking funds in chequing at the end of a promotion is a way to shield it from being included in the starting balance of any new promotion. That saves having to move it to an external FI. I simply move cash back to the HISA once the new offer takes effect.

In more than 10 years I've been with Tangerine, they had one promo where they included chequing in balance calculations. That was only once, but it means they can do it again.
Just check T&C of an offer, to make sure you won't lose 1 month of interest just because they pulled that trick again.

Also, another time they scheduled new promo offer to start few days before end of previous promo offer. Since then, I move money from Tangerine at least 1 week before promo offer ends.
