Y.S. experience in a recent post is familiar to me. I thought the topic deserves its own thread.
During an online GIC application, I was allowed the option to fund within 15 days.
"Looks like you don't have sufficient funds available in your selected Account. The funds need to be available in your selected Account within 15 days. If the GIC can't fund within 15 days, it will be automatically closed, and you'll need to go through opening the GIC all over again.
The process appeared to be legitimate. A confirmation number was assigned.
However, that was the end. The application-in-progress is nowhere to be seen again after I clicked "Done". When I asked Tangerine, they don't see it either.
If you have a success experience in the delayed funding, please tell me what did I missed?

COPIED from my last posting on the previous thread. Because I'm as close to speechless as I get:
"FOR CRYING OUT LOUD - as I typed the above, a Tangerine low account alert came in. The money has just been taken out of my account, credited to the wretched GIC which now is recorded properly in my account, correct in details, dated today. This system is unbelievable. And not in a good way."
Hope it works out for you, hwyc. Maybe in your Christmas stocking?

Like to close with one final post. I received today an email from Tangerine ... the one and only regarding this application.
Thanks for your interest in a Tax-Free Guaranteed Investment (GIC). Your Account wasn’t funded within 15 days so we were unable to open it.
If you’re still interested in opening a GIC, please log in at tangerine.ca and select the GIC you’d like to open from the Account Summary page. Make sure to fund your new GIC Account within 15 days of the Account opening.
I love Tangerine. Hope I have a better experience next time.
