Will be interesting to hear Peter's input.

Sometimes when Forum software is updated, members may need to re-log in.

Might also be a browser issue...or even a browser specific issue.

So far no problem here using Chrome on PC and Chrome on Android. Tested on Edge and no problem either.

What browser are you using?

Stephen

I use a Chrome browser on my brand new Sony Xperia with the latest OS and have not been getting the NEW notifications either for the last week or two. Have to go by the dates now.

Will be interesting to see reports from other Forum members, to see if there is a common thread related to why topic status is not being updated for them.

Peter may have a simple explanation.

I couldn't reproduce the issue, but I have reset a bunch of supposed user cache data now. Can others reproduce the problem now? If so, let me know and I can investigate specific users further.

Hi, Peter.
I used to get the "NEW" notification icon for unread topics and comments at the end of a thread. That disappeared a few weeks ago and now I only see the red "NEW" label at the end of the "Forum" page under "Unread and recently updated topics".
For example, if I was reading your comment on this thread for the first time, there would be a "NEW" marker in the header. I don't see that anymore and can only go by the date to tell me if the post is new or not.
Regards,
Ed

I still have the problem, and as I use an RSS feed I don't even see the red "NEW" label at the end of the "Forum" page under "Unread and recently updated topics" that Ed speaks of.

Ah, now I understand that you're talking about the label within each thread. Sorry about that.

I think I've tracked down the issue and solved it. You should be seeing those labels again.

Is there a way, after logging in and clicking on topic with new (fresh) posts, to be positioned on first UNREAD post and not at the beginning of topic?

If you click on the red "new:#" box on the right side, it takes you to posts unread by you.
