It's possible, but there are at least a couple of factors, such as province and regular savings vs TFSA. Also, maybe some people want to know all changes rather than just when the rate leader changes. Perhaps there is a way to provide a feed that would serve a variety of needs. Or for the specific need, there could be a forum thread that people subscribe to, and the only posts would be when the leader changes.
Note that there is also the monthly newsletter, although that's only once per month and you then have to also receive all the other stuff in it.

Dear Peter,
Thanks for incorporating the desired change to my subject line.
Yes, you're right. People may want customized updates (depending on their province, or TFSA vs regular, or all vs leader change). If you could do all that, that would be great.
If you're taking a poll, may I be the first to say that I wish for email notification whenever there's a change to the leader for BC-serving regular accounts. 🙂

https://whatbank.ca has this feature for both HISA and GICs. You can select top 5 or only when highest changes or even only your selection of FIs.

Hello smayer97. Thank you for your input. I have just visited the site. At the bottom of the page there are two financial institutions listed when the category is outside of Quebec. Saven Financial at 2.85%, and motive financial at 2.2%. I am in British Columbia and saven financial is available only for ontarians. Highinterestsavings.ca is better in the sense that they have three categories instead of two: Ontario, Quebec, and rest of Canada.
Currently highinterestavings.ca has three financial institutions that give a higher interest rate than motive financial: accelerate financial, Hubert Financial, and achieva Financial.
So although whatbank.ca has email notifications, it won't help me.
When I click on ” I live in Quebec” In the what bank.ca site, I see accelerate financial at 2.6%. I don't know why whatbank.ca does not have accelerate financial in the ”not in Quebec” column|. I have an accelerate financial account and I don't live in Quebec and never have.
My point again is that what bank.ca does not seem to be reliable (or at least less helpful than highinterestsavings.ca)
Update one: everything I've said in this comment is regarding what bank.ca homepage. I am now exploring https://whatbank.ca/his/... This subpage seems to have a lot More information (All of the financial institutions lumped into one category).... I will try to find out whether I can be notified only for financial institutions that are available for British Columbians`

That WhatBank HISA table has Motive at 2.2%. Is there another Motive somewhere? Â
The header at the top of that table says that it was last updated July 17. In other words, I think there is just one motive financial. What bank.ca just doesn't update as quickly as high interest savings.ca

I did see that but I thought they had been higher than 2.2%. 2.2 to 3.0 is quite the jump ...

You can send them feedback if you see something is wrong or could use improvement.
As for BC only, there is no such category ATM, so the only way to deal with that is to customize the list that match your needs, manually.
