Following the inception of Peoples Bank in recent weeks, would it be appropriate to modify the Peoples Trust Forum section title to reflect the change in a combined section or or set up a separate Forum section for Peoples Bank??

Suggestions for a combined section title:

    Peoples Group
    Peoples Trust / Bank

Hi Stephen,

I was going to suggest something like this. My first choice would be to probably to list both, with separate profiles, forums, and listings in the comparison chart given that separate KYC identity verification needs to be done, that the two have separate online banking systems/profiles, and that they have separate branding. If this were simply a branding name like Oaken Financial or EQ Bank that applies to both Home Trust Company/Home Bank and Equitable Bank/Equitable Trust, respectively, then I'd favour renaming to Peoples (not Peoples Group, though since that's the non-bank parent company).

As a second choice, I would favour separate profiles and listings in the comparison/GIC charts but have a single, renamed forum called /peoples-trust-and-bank or something like that.

What do you think of either of those? sf-cool

Cheers,
Doug

Doug,

In the long run, the way each is listed and discussed could depend on whether they offer parallel rates, as they are doing now.

I can see the rationale for separate listings, and if the Simple Press platform supports it, maybe a sub forum might be another option.

Hi Stephen,

I have no problem with either a sub-forum of Peoples Trust, or a combined forum for the Trust and Bank subsidiaries. I do, however, think we should have separate profiles and chart listings, given the separate online banking systems and branding. Whether they continue to have the same rates is immaterial because, principally, we have no crystal ball and can't say with complete certainty what they will do (they may not even know, either!)...this is consistent with our practice for Motusbank/Meridian Credit Union having separate profiles and GIC chart listings. In that case, Meridian has a separate forum, but I would be fine with combining the forums as well. Similarly, Meridian isn't listed in the HISA chart due to non-competitive rates, but it is in the GIC chart separately.

Anyway, hopefully that clarifies my thinking. sf-cool

Cheers,
Doug
