This is great to have on the site. My suggestion is to have a separate one for registered and non-registered accounts.
Peter, if you would like to give me Edit permission on this page, I'd be more than happy to update it weekly or whenever I notice a change. We can also work on some kind of API programming so it pulls the information from external resources which get update more often automatically.

Thanks for the suggestion, support, and offer to help.
I'm open to expanding the chart, although this probably requires more thought and scope definition. Concretely, what is the more specific definition of registered vs non-registered, taking into account RRSP, RRIF, and TFSAs? And what about redeemable / cashable vs non-redeemable / non-cashable?
The good news is that the current GIC chart does automatically scrape the banks' websites, although one of them seems to modify their page structure every week, so it still takes some ongoing maintenance!

We are the ones who should thank you 🙂
Exactly but from what banks usually have the same rates for all their registered accounts. We can of course have 4 tables but that would be over doing IMHO. Glad to hear the chart is set to auto-update itself. Pulling from bank's web site must be challenging. Great work. Thanks again.

They really don't have all the same rates for various account types. The FIs we use the most may do, but some don't.
In my experience RIFs are most likely to get the short end of the stick and TFSAs are more likely to get the better deals, where there are discrepancies.
True. I never actually looked at RIFs.

I must be missing something, but the only way I can access the GIC chart is from the link in the March newsletter.
You might also save the URL address to your own desktop shortcut:

Yes, I still need to find it a more permanent place once I remove it from the top of the News area in the sidebar.
Peter,
Does Simple Press allow modifying banner items like the "Comparison Chart" link to become a drop down menu? If so, the Comparison Chart title could then contain one link to to the page for account interest rates and another link to the page for GIC rates.
Another option might be to modify the existing page to display both comparison charts, one below the other or perhaps integrated based on FI name. That way only one link in the banner would be required with no modification, except perhaps for the title to be Comparison Charts.
