I'm usually frustrated in trying to read all new posts, as only the most recent 10 topics appear in the final forum box. I've even tried logging in twice a day, which is a pain!
Would it be possible - and desirable - to show the most recent 15 topics with new posts? That would cover the new stuff for most days. The other method we were told about a while back has the drawbacks of showing in reverse order and not clearly marking where new posts begin.

If you go to the Home page you will see the 15 most recent posts.
Click "Home" at the top of the page or go here:

Or go here to see the last 50:

Those were specifically the unsatisfactory methods I've tried and found failing.
Yes, I usually go to the "Unread and recently updated topics" and click the red boxes. This leaves me no hint of any topics not in the most recent ten and I try to go searching through the entire forum listing for red boxes. This is a pain, as I have to sort the ones I've already seen, and often miss many.
The "Last 50 forum posts" listing leads one to the LAST post, not the first new one, and one has to read backward to try to spot the first new one. And get confused.
Having 15 instead of 10 "Unread and recently updated topics" would cover most days. I don't know why the number of 10 was chosen, and frankly even 30 or more would not be a hindrance as we'd have the red boxes to tell us when to stop reading.
While it would be a bit more programming or configuration work than just changing the quantity, it would be even better if that section simply stopped when there were no new posts. That might dump a lot on new or returning members, though, so I can see 30 or 50 being a good compromise.

The "Last 50" is my go to for recent entries to browse through. I never go through all 50 but rather the topics that might interest me.
Also, I find "subscribing to topics that interest me is helpful as I get emails for new posts until I decide I'm no longer interested and I unsubscribe.
I find many trheads difficult to follow when some people use "Reply" to a specific post but "Reply" just adds to the thread so it's often difficult to figure what the reply was to. When replying to a specific post in a thread, people should use the "Quote" which is very helpful to understand the flow ...

Can't you read the ones that appear, then re-fresh the function? Don't the ones that are, once read, now disappear, after re-freshment?
