To some extent, but not perfect and definitely a nuisance when you have to do this as often as I encounter the problem.
Well, that's good, but I think we should fix this as it's an accessibility issue. What colour(s), style(s), and other formatting fix(es) would you like to see deployed to the blue header box?
Maybe Peter could deploy a clearly marked toggle button directly below the header box, aligned to the left or right, to allow users to toggle the colour and style scheme of the blue header box for users with diminished vision?
Actually, that's not a bad idea for the whole site, provide an alternate colour scheme, perhaps set by a persistent cookie, that allows the user to define whether to use the standard visual appearance for the site or the modified visual appearance designed for users with visual challenges?
Cheers,
Doug

I appreciate the support, Doug. I can't answer all your questions as I am just learning these things too. Narrow lines in choice of fonts (very popular these days) are also a problem. I believe there are resources that discuss optimums.
For me, white on black or navy, in bold, works best, but I know that it would be impossible to have everything look like that as aesthetics do enter into it.
Hubert is the worst. I hate that pale blue/orange combo or whatever it is, and have complained, to no avail.
One thing I do appreciate about this site is that when you are typing messages, your typing always appears to you in bold.

Oh, you mean the quoted text and text you're typing in the text entry box? Yeah, I can see how that would be helpful and also how Hubert would not be that great. EQ Bank, with its hot pink and bright yellow colour scheme, probably isn't much better. Which FI has the best user interface in terms of colour scheme and layout for accessibility (i.e., visual impairment) purposes?
Those details should be helpful for Peter for possibly implementing some improvements, possibly doing some sort of high contrast CSS scheme for users with visual challenges.
Cheers,
Doug

I find that all the FIs have some strengths and weaknesses in this regard. With some, the print is very small in some sections, or the font is not friendly. I think the challenge for the website developer is to make it attractive from a marketing point of view while also making it accessible.
Some of the websites that serve the visually impaired community are useful in seeing what can be done. One that you might be familiar with is the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA).
