Views are shown for each group of threads under Discussion Forum, e.g. at for example Site Suggestion level. https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/forum/site-suggestions/ That said, views really don't add much value. It is the content, e.g. post count, that has more substantive value.

View count is a measure of popularity of the content. While the post count measures the vocal writers, the views count measures the silent readers. There are threads actually in the five digits range view counts.

This may be true only if there is a way to delete a post from the list of unread posts without 'viewing' it. There are posts I have no interest in but the only way to clear them from my unread list is to open and close the thread. This would count as a 'view' but it is not a sign of popularity. But who's counting anyway...

You don't have to but I guess most people do that. However after I signed on, my view tells me, for example, "two topics with unread posts" with 3 icons beside it.
1st icon - Most recent topics with unread posts
2nd - Mark all topics as read
3rd - Go to bottom
I would clicked on the 1st, then a pop-up will present me a detailed view on those topics. I would only pick the ones I really want to follow based on the poster. When I'm done, I'll skip the rest by clicking the 2nd icon for the session.
But OK. I get it. People don't see this as being useful.
