Hello there,
I have some credit cards and banks where I can choose to receive email notifications for a variety transactions: For example:
--Purchases made abroad
--When credit on card is above $100
--when credit card used over phone
--When bank account is negative
etc.
Can we do this as well with our Simplii deposit (chequing and savings) accounts?

Simplii (unlike their parent company CIBC) doesn't have the option for most alerts, other than fraud alerts (text message and voice call) and for new credit card statements (email).
They have alerts for when you activate your debit/credit card on a mobile wallet and e-transfer alerts that every bank has to have, but that's really it.
No transactional alerts whatsoever or anything to do with your account balances (negative account balance, over credit limit, direct deposit/debit, foreign currency purchase, etc.).
Not even payment due date reminders or when you're near your credit limit. A scheduled bill payment failed? You'll have no idea what happened until you check, hopefully before it's too late.
