With Saven HISA rate on the top of this site chart, I thought I should give it a try. Went to Google Play to download an app and for my surprise I can't: my not very old and quite capable smartphone with Android 9 "is not compatible."
Without an app many nice feature will be lost for me, such as mobile cheque deposit.
My smartphone is not from the mainstream brand, but it were sold as mobile gaming device with quite good specs, so I am not sure what Saven app developers do not like about it.
If you are an active user of banking apps on smartphone, it makes sense to start with installing FI app to find if you can, instead of going through online account signing process only to find you can't have mobile banking with that FI.

Although it is not that long ago Android 9 was released in Aug 2018. Android versions are usually supported for 4 years. Tech times are a little more compressed, Android 13 wass just released. It appears you are near end of life for the operating system. You should consider upgrading your operating system. If your phone is old and will not support a newer OS then you may not get security updates at some point in time.

It may not be a OS issue. When I go to the Google store for the Saven Financial app, my Samsung S7 phone (android 8) and Samsung A53 phone (android 12) are deemed compatible but not my samsung Tab 5e tablet (android 11) is not...
I did not install as I have absolutely no interest in Saven...

If you have any more than a $1,000 in an account, you should not be using any banking apps on your phone. From any bank. My opinion.
Everything IT in this world, is OK, until it isn't. Mostly caused by operator error, password negligence, and not understanding security. BTW
Google Play did you a favour...

Why would a smartphone be so much less secure than the web? 'Operator error, password negligence, and not understanding security'...wouldn't they be the same?

FastJohnny: the design of smartphones is predicated on complete control by the vendor and network provider. One can set up hardened desktop or laptop computers, but on a phone there are only Android and iOS systems, both designed for complete control.
Google lives by snooping and selling; Apple won't protect your privacy from Apple. Any holes can ultimately be exploited by others than those who put them there.

Apple used to have a stellar reputation for attention privacy protection. However, just recently, a huge software hole has been exposed that allowed hackers access and control over any iPhone 6+ or device. So, even Apple is not immune. I think Apple even claimed that they made encryption so that even Apple would be unable to snoop on their own devices.

HermanH: In the mid-2010s, Apple told the US government and law enforcement that they couldn't decrypt messages thought to be on a seized iPhone. (Not long after a lot of legal warfare and lawyer enrichment, a private security firm cracked the phone, allegedly in hours.)
