That's quite a preemptive jump, not totally surprising as they are the leader and will likely make the rest of the pack that's sitting at @ 1.6% move up to at least 2%.

That's some consolation for the scary game of chance you play to get your money in there. I can't even imagine what will happen when you try to get your money out of there.
I opened an account, set up a transfer from Simplii for $1000 + $25 for the share. Got a confirmation and took a screen shot. I also transferred $500 from EQ, also got a confirmation and took a screen shot. The EQ transfer disappeared, so I did it two more times as it kept disappearing. The Simplii transfer remained visible. It turned out, Simplii NEVER got transferred at all, and the EQ although it kept disappearing, ended up there in three different transfers. I called but could never get through, left a number received no callback. I ended up with $1500 in there from the three separate EQ attempts. They took $25 and put it in the shares. As for the Simplii transfer, who knows, it never happened.
Hopefully they resolve their online/app issues, because at the moment I wouldn't trust them as far as I could kick them.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you had with our platform. Calls to our Service Centre may experience longer than anticipated wait times and we apologize for that. We will investigate the issue with callbacks as you have mentioned leaving one but not getting a response. Savenfinancial, you've addressed the call back issue. How about addressing the "game of chance" issue with $ moving to/fro?
Here's a suggestion, Test your system thoroughly i.e. open an account with a rival FI and test the movement of funds between FI's.
It doesn't matter how good your interest rate is if your system cannot handle the transaction.

IOW your clients are your beta testers...sf-frown

As I recall there are no joint accounts and wait times for transfers are inordinately long.

Is there anything that does work as anticipated or comparable to so many other FI's that provide good service, rapid response to calls, platforms that work as expected, speedy transfers and joint accounts ?

Stephen

I’m just happy I found out before I tried to transfer the huge GIC I have coming due.
As suggested from my saver friends above, this system should have been tested thoroughly and be performing flawlessly, before launching.
At this point, I feel like I dodged a bullet.
First excuse is the last excuse when it comes to my hard earned dough.

Saven just raised their high interest savings account interest rate to 2.85%.
