Not sure if this is targeted or not.

RBC Royal Bank is offering the following in the non-redeemable GIC purchase pages of my online banking:

6 Months Non-Redeemable GIC
Posted Rate: 2.75%
Your Bonus: 1.75%
Your Rate: 4.50%

Shows up when GIC purchase amount is at least $5,000.

The offer is not shown in any of the public pages of RBC Royal Bank's site. The offer is not shown on their usual GIC Rates page.

I see that rate offer and others when I sign into online banking and go through the online banking pages to purchase a non-redeemable GIC. With RBC, one needs to open a GIC account first that will hold the GIC's.

In online banking, go into the GIC account. Select "Purchase GIC". Click the "Buy Now" button for Non-Redeemable GIC's. Enter $5,000 for the GIC amount and click the "See Your Offers" button.

Or just keep it in HIS account is paying 4.5% from may 1ST and end of Aug 31st at least thats what they are giving me ,but not my wife
