Does peoples trust have a tfsa transfer fee? Their rates aren’t very good right now.

I spoke with Peoples' about transferring out a TFSA last week, and while they would NOT lock in the rate ahead of maturity (Friday), they said they'd be offering a 2% rate for three months to tempt clients to keep their TFSA cash there until the competitive season was over.

I will be keeping in touch with them to see if the deal is there at the end of the week, or even sweetened.

At the moment, PT/PB do not have a transfer-out fee. Neither does Oaken, which is a good thing because they have no TFSA savings account - just term deposits (GICs).

Is this a three month term deposit at 2.0%Peoples Trust is offering you or 2% on a TFSA deposit account?

I called today and the CSR had not heard of such a retention promo, even after checking with his manager.

CORRECTION!

Oops... I was planning to move my maturing Coast Capital TFSA funds TO Peoples, and spoke to both ends. But it was COAST CAPITAL, not Peoples, who advised of a 2% 3-month fixed term. Apologies to those who went questing for it in vain.
