This week customer reps have been walking around Loblaws stores marketing to shoppers a fairly new digital product called PC Money Account. Has anyone signed up for this new product which seems to be like a free (no service charges) Debit Card and gives you more PC Optimum points when you buy at both Loblaws and Shoppers Drug Mart stores and non Loblaws stores and when you pay bills online. The PC Money Account is funded by linking to another of your bank accounts and/or by having payroll or pension cheques deposited directly to the PC Money Account. Guess it could work for people who don't use cheques for paying bills.

The PC Money Account is a non-interest paying bank account. The accompanying card is a prepaid MasterCard and not a debit card. So, one won't be able to use it at merchants that only accept debit.
Earn rate of the card is not that high:
6 Earn at least 5 PC Optimum™ points per dollar on qualifying purchases with your PC Money™ Account, wherever your card is accepted. Earn 10 PC Optimum™ points (5 regular PC Optimum™ points plus a bonus of 5 PC Optimum™ points) per dollar on qualifying purchases at participating Loblaw banner stores, Shoppers Drug Mart® stores, Joe Fresh® stores, and Esso™ and Mobil™ stations in Canada. …
10,000 PC Optimum points = $10. That means 1% earn on purchases at certain stores and ½% earn on other purchases.
Fee schedule has a $20/year inactivity fee on accounts that have no transactions in a 365 day period.
