Tangerine and Scotia blocked the securer Bill Payment method to PC Money (as per the RFD thread linked above.) That was one route I was thinking of taking if I got this account, I wonder how long before other FIs block it too.
The report is suspect. The biller was added but the payment made didn't arrive. Others replied there was no problem with their payments to their PC Money account via its card.
Is the PC Financial PC Money biller actually gone now from Tangerine and ScotiaBank online banking? The biller is still there in the online banking of Simplii, Manulife Bank, and EQ Bank.

It appears as "Pc Financial - Pc Money Account" or "Pc Financial Mastercard" as the payee name at Tangerine, and "PC FINANCIAL- PC MONEY ACCOUNT" or "MASTERCARD, PC FINANCIAL" at Scotiabank.

Without links to an external account at PC Financial, one would move the funds to the spending balance of the PC Money account and pull the funds out from another financial institution that has an external link to the PC Money account.
If one has a brokerage account that can be funded by bill payments (like those from Scotia iTRADE, BMO InvestorLine, and TD Direct Investing), then one can bill pay the brokerage account from the PC Money account.
The PC Financial chatbot says the bill pay limits are currently $10,000/bill and $25,000/day.

So, to recap: anyone looking for a *securer* way to move funds
FUNDS INTO PC MONEY:
Bill Pay from your FI to "PC Financial Money/Mastercard" (or derivation thereof, check with FI)
FUNDS OUT OF PC MONEY:
Bill Pay from PC Money to your FI that accepts bill payments ($10k/bill $25k/day limit)
One additional benefit of this route could also be no holds at receiving ends (as bill payments are essentially pushes) but there may be exceptions.

No luck with setting up bill payment through Tangerine. I selected "PC FINANCIAL- PC MONEY ACCOUNT" and got an error message back saying that the account number had the wrong number of digits. I had used the 7 digit account number for my spend account.
Should I have included the transit number, or the institution number all on the same line?

As AR described, one is sending money to the PC Money account by bill paying the account's card, not the PC Money account itself.
One would use the PC Money bill payee (like "PC FINANCIAL -PC MONEY ACCOUNT" at Simplii) and specify the number of the account's card. Simplii has this description for the number:
PC FINANCIAL -PC MONEY ACCOUNT
This account consists of a Card Number that is 16 numbers. Only the prefix " 533866" followed by 10 digits may be registered. Enter this number without any spaces.
Perhaps that is why one person reported in December 2023 that it didn't work and asked if bill payments to PC Money accounts were blocked. That person may have specified the PC Money account number and not the number of the account's card.

Thanks for the clarification of the number I should be using. Sadly, my PC Money card is still in transit, and until Canada Post delivers it, I won't be able to set up the bill payments to PC Financial. In the meantime, I can console myself in seeing how the bill payment from PC Financial works.
It seems odd to me that there is no online version of the PC Money card, but I have not been successful in finding it on the app, or through the web interface. Everything seems to depend on a physical card that remains in the custody of Canada Post.

I finally received my PC Money card, and activated it.
Using the card number, I was able to successfully establish and operate TD's bill payment function to push money into my PC Spending account. It arrived with no hold, so I was able to transfer it immediately to the PC Savings account.
I was not successful in setting up a bill payment from Tangerine to PC Financial, using the same card number that worked with TD. There must be a block on bill payments at one end, either Tang or PC Financial.
Glad that the TD channel works, though.

Does the Tangerine chequing account have the same ownership as the PC Money account?
Some bill payees are particular about who is paying and will reject the payment if the name on the payor account does not match the name on the biller's account. QTrade, for example, is one that warns about third-party bill payment attempts:
…
As an alternative to using EFT to fund your account, you can log in to your credit union or bank account and go to the bill payment section. Simply search for and add 'Qtrade Direct Investing' as a payee and enter your account number. Then send money by entering an amount and a date. Once the funds are "cleared" you can expect them to be credited to your account within two business days.
…
Third- party bill payments are not accepted. All bill payments must be made from a bank account in the same name as your account. Learn more about bill payments here.

I suspect PC Financial is rejecting bill payments coming from a different name than the name on the PC Money account. Don't know what name or names is the payor on the bill payment when the payment is made from a joint account.
Would the primary account owner be the same on the joint chequing accounts at TD and Tangerine Bank?

Definitely possible that Tangerine is filling in the payor of the bill payment remittance differently than TD does for payments done from a joint account.
Is the Tangerine client card activated? Found this surprising report on RedFlagDeals.com that Tangerine bill payments don't work properly if one doesn't activate the Tangerine client card for the chequing account: Tangerine: Orange Alert: Bill Payment Failed

I too have now two independent real life sources confirm that Bill Payments from Tangerine to PC Money/Mastercard completely fail, while they work normally elsewhere. It appears either Tangerine or PC Financial or something else is blocking this specific route at source or target. Anyone know what's the official customer support response to this?
