Just noticed Omnia has raised their one year GIC rate to 2.5%

All other longer term rates are less than their current one year rate.

I just wanted to add I have used this CU for gic savings for two years they are very good and my checks were paid to me post dated in advance so I did not miss a day of investment. Also the ladies I dealt with were really nice and helpful.
I give them 5 stars what what it counts
I am looking at this offer ATM and may invest again with them.

they wouldnt send out a post dated chq last time. they should offer an extra 5 points for the purchase redeem snail mail. and what they closed down now they're open we gotta apply again? 2.75 for 18mths would be more attractive

2.5 one year lousy term it should be 18mths or at least 2yr. In one year we can get 2.5 average in high savings accounts bit higher now will make up for bit lower if happens in latter half. Omnia thinks they can sneek this one by us cause they offered maybe too good a deal at the time last time around. Don't bite unless you have to let them raise it.

WFCU or Windsor Family Credit parent of Omnia is offering a better 2, 3, 4 &5yr rate than Omnia through a deposit broker 2.45% 2.4 2.4 their 5yr 2.65 vs. Omnia's 2.35

Gimme a break!

I have heard it said, but can't verify, that deposit brokers may require partner FIs to agree not to offer as good a deal direct-to-consumer. At the least, it would create bad vibes between deposit broker and FI if the deposit broker could not add value to the consumer's investment.
