I'm glad that Hubert has kept its 5.25% quarterly rate in place this long. It really seems like an outlier - better than even the GIC brokers are offering at present. I've rarely seen that since I've been following GIC rates on this site.
As for Oaken, I'm certainly going to keep my savings accounts with them, with minimal balances. But they will need to do better on rates, relative to others, to get any GIC reinvestment from me.

Not to worry, Rail Baron ⬆
I'm guessing Oaken will be near the top of the GIC Rates Chart again, by Christmas.
It's all part of the normal Ebb&Flow/Give&Take of the ever changing GIC Rates.

You can almost Hear the money being sucked out of Oaken right now (including mine). Oh well ... they'll eventually be back near the top.Dean
Did you go to Hubert with the matured Oaken Funds? Just wondering.

- 'Yes' ⬆ (Hubert 2Yr GIC @ 4.80%)
But I had to Hold-My-Nose to do it, as I remain Very Unimpressed with the lack of functionality of their Half-Baked website section for Hubert accounts. In spite of this being 2024, you Still have to call-in to do just about Everything ❗
