Oaken may still be able to link using a void cheque. Their mail-in account opening forms still offer that.

That may be true, but I only have Savings account with Meridian and it does not come with chequebook.

Weird ...
Actually, I might be wrong.
The URL for "Small Business Banking" is same as for personal banking at Meridian. Perhaps, it is possible to link Meridian CU. I'll check that later.

Update. While URLs are the same, linking Meridian CU personal account fails.

External account linking process asked me for login and password to my EQ account. Then, it presented me with my two accounts I have with EQ, personal and joint. They both had correct account numbers, same as shown on EQ web site.
I selected personal account and after brief moment error message appeared "Account linking system is unavailable" or something similar. I took this as either communication protocols mismatch or connection timeout.
Tried again, same error. Gave up.
Oaken says it takes up to two business days for linked account to appear. I don't know why, I believe when I used FLinks before linking was instantaneous. I wonder if there is human oversight and verification, and if it is - that could mean someone manually completed linking process to my EQ account. Thanks to them for going extra mile.
I now have my personal EQ account with its account number listed as linked account in Oaken. Does not show the transit number. Just says EQUITABLE BANK (account #).
It also appears linked account can't be removed.
I pulled $30 from EQ, will see if transaction goes through. It should, but I always verify newly linked accounts with small funds transfer to make sure the link is correct.
