I have email updates from Oaken and I am also a customer of Oaken. Today I received an email from Home Trust with and Excel file attached with their BROKER RATES. Not close to Oaken. I wonder why they emailed it to me?

Maybe because they knew you'd like to share the info with us? sf-smile
Or perhaps they think you are going to join me in my new "bargain basement" deposit brokerage business? sf-wink

More seriously, though, I, for one, would be interested to know if they're higher or lower than what they are offering the public. I hope they keep sending them!

BTW, I am now a client of theirs as well, but they don't send me anything at all.sf-frown However, they were very prompt at processing my RRSP transfer. They did better than I thought they would, as the "old" bank - which I had acquired through a deposit broker quite a few years ago - was not being especially helpful, and I was afraid they were going to reinvest it, contrary to my instructions.

Joining you for for a brokerage business would be a good idea. We could have a Pacific Coast Office and an Upper Canada Office. There should be no connotation to bargain basement as that could be mistaken for low rates or low level service. sf-smile Perhaps Upper Loft or Sky Parlour where we do not pillage your account with fees and service charges. We are not inclined to provide investments for you that pay us the best commissions unless it is the best rate for you! sf-smilesf-smile

sf-laughIt's only a matter of time until we'll be setting up our own not-for-profit bank...
er, credit union.
If Crappy Tire can do it, so can we! Onwards!sf-laugh
