While I was in a pickle a few months ago with my CDIC limits that could be well over $100,000 if a death occurred ….. I had to make plans to resolve. Luckily Oaken helped immediately by moving my RRIFs.

Then with the Hubert debacle, I then planned to pull out and also need to reallocate some TFSA from PT and planned to use CWB to resolve.

Today I called Oaken and it sounds very firm that they will have RRIF the late spring of 2024 *. So along with TFSA HISA accounts I have no need for CWB or Hubert. I may keep quarterlies at Hubert or do the floating GIC at CWB … so sitting on the fence as I have a couple of years before the final decision needs to be made.

*In the past has been very wishy washy.

So the Oaken HISA move has resolved most of my problems.

I guess this is good news, but I'll believe it when I see it.
For years and years, they said the registered savings accounts were on the way.

A note peripheral to this conversation: Vancouver City Savings Credit Union offers RRIFs with a minimum deposit of $2,000, which is the only minimum I've found this low so far. That may also help a few other members here.
