I see to open new account with Oaken that you need to mail in cheque.
After an account is set up, can you only link accounts with Oaken that are chequing accounts? or can you link accounts to savings accounts to?
How many accounts does Oaken allow to link for EFT?
I would recommend asking Oaken Financial this question and reporting back to us with the results, frugal lady. It'd be useful to have this information from an authoritative source for future reference in our little "repository" of sorts.
Be sure to ask them whether a "VOID cheque form" or "account confirmation form" for savings accounts or chequing accounts without cheques are accepted and whether it need be a teller date stamp or whether simply a branch domicile stamp bearing branch name, transit and address is acceptable, with or without any signature, name and telephone number of any branch representative.
Thanks,
Doug

Made an inquiry to Oaken today regarding linking accounts.
This is their response:
"You may link both savings and checking accounts to an existing Oaken Savings Account provided they have an account, transit and institution number.
To link additional banking information at Oaken, please mail an original personal cheque (pre-printed with your name) marked VOID with instructions to Oaken Financial 145 King Street West Suite 2500 Toronto ON M5H 1J8.
If you do not have a personal cheque, please submit the institutions pre-authorized deposit form. The pre-authorized deposit form from the other financial institution must provide the following information: Institution #, Transit#, account# and client's name printed / stamped by the bank.
There is no limit on the number of accounts that may be linked."
