Oaken Financial is actually CDIC member Home Trust Company:
What is the relationship between Oaken Financial and Home Trust?
Oaken Financial is a trademark of Home Trust. It is not a separate company. All deposits are with Home Trust. Home Trust is a member of Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Doesn't look like Home Trust is a Canadian Payments Association member, though. They are not on the current members list.
CPA Rule D4 (Institution Numbers and Clearing Agency/Representative Arrangements) lists a grandfathered CPA institution ID 535 for the Home Savings and Loans Corporation.
That was a predecessor company according to Home Trust: Our History:
Home Trust is a federally regulated trust company carrying on business across Canada. Originally incorporated in Ontario in 1977 as Home Savings and Loan Corporation, the Company was continued under the Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada) on March 9, 2000. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Home Capital Group Inc., a publicly held company that trades on the TSX under the symbol HCG. Home Trust is also a member of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation and Visa Canada.
It may be better to give Oaken a call and ask if they support direct deposits to and pre-authorized debits from their accounts. If they do, they can provide the institution ID and branch transit number to use.
