Glad it's working for you.
For us, not so much. Entered phone, email, received code, entered code and........
"Please contact technical support."And cannot access account.
ditto for spouse's account
ditto for sibling's account.
Contact Technical Support (which is same as Customer Support), leave number and pray for a call back. I previously left a call back on Aug 7th for enrolling in a GIC, still waiting for that call back (it's Aug 11th).
I guess the longer this gets unresolved, the more I stew about it and think about this ongoing business relationship.
hmmm. When you logged in, did it prompt you to change your password first ?
I think thats the first step of the process that they set up. After that, then they will prompt the 2-step verication process.
For me I logged in pre Aug10 and the system asked me to change password. Then after this forum, I log in on Aug10 and it prompted me to setup 2-step after I log in with new password.

I feel sorry for anybody wanting to take advantage of their 120 day GIC special rate which it seems can only be processed over the phone. I have been pretty happy with Motive in the past, but I'm starting to wonder. I spent almost two hours on hold last week to get an "access denied" problem straightened out.
I set up two factor identification quite a while ago - what's the problem now? Has it just become mandatory or why all the rush?

Just tried to login - I can't remember any email notification. Anyway it would not accept my password a few times then it let me in and I use the 2FA (email) and logged in. I added my mobile number for 2FA, downloaded my transactions and logged out. I then tried to login again to check and it locked me out. On the call queue for the last hour. Website says they are busy. Sigh

I can't login using the correct account and password! I never get to the (stoopid) 2nd factor ID ! It just reloads the initial login screen!
I feel their implementation of 2 factor ID "to save us all from the dark web, or whoever" has been so shoddy, its done nothing except getting themselves hacked and us along with it.
I can't be bothered sitting on hold for an hour to be read some meaningless "script" excuse. Besides my beer might run out, and it would be just my luck that some person came on the line just at that moment when I was at the fridge!
I just wanted to know how much interest my HISA earned in August. Is that too much to ask of banks these days? Appears so..... Instead, we get a survey!

dougjp: Have you got a phone with hands-free speaker option? I just leave mine turned on at max volume and do whatever I want (TV, munch, take a whizz, etc.) until I hear the annoying music stop. And, yes, I have a phone in my bathroom. If they ever choose to talk while I'm in there, I tell them to hold on and switch phones.

If it were only music, that would be a most excellent option. However, most companies believe that they have a captive audience and feel free to abuse the hell out of them with advertising or imbecilic suggestions to use online options, ad nauseum.
I use the speaker option if I must leave the room. Otherwise, I leave the volume as low as possible so that I can hear the background buzz, but not discern the spam.

Thanks, yes I use the phone speaker option while waiting on hold.
So yesterday I logged in without problem, ie; my password was accepted (unlike the day before), the message about 2FA being sent to me came up and the code was received quickly.
This morning my password was accepted but the very next screen was " An error occurred because you did not complete your 2 Step Verification Registration. Please contact us to reset........ "
My first assumption, being overly kind to them considering I'm the customer being inconvenienced again, was that its very early Sunday MT and perhaps some maintenance is being done. However wouldn't/shouldn't there be a message to that effect rather than this. I'll try again later.
