I just got an email from Motive asking me to participate in a customer survey, but I'm going to have to fire up the DeLorean to get it in on time...
Dear XXXXXXX:
Thank you for being a Motive Financial client. We are gathering feedback from our clients and hope you will participate in this survey. Your responses will be anonymous and analyzed only in aggregate with all other survey responses. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.
We will be holding a draw for two (2) prizes of $250 among all participants who complete this survey by midnight on Sunday August 13th, 2020.
Please click here to complete the survey.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact info@motivefinancial.com.
If you no longer wish to receive surveys from Motive Financial, please send an email to info@motivefinancial.com and include unsubscribe surveys in the subject line.
Thank you for your participation.

If you actually open up the survey, you will see the correct date of Sunday, September 13th mentioned.
True story, it was only the email that had the wrong date, but it does make you wonder how somebody didn't notice before it was sent out.
I nonetheless gave them moderately glowing marks on their survey and didn't mention it

Hmm, I never got a corrected email. Maybe because I'd already completed the survey?
That's what I've got at 3:13 PM ET:
Hello ALEXANDRE,
We sent an email invitation for this survey earlier today with an incorrect closing date for the survey. We apologize for any confusion this caused. The closing date is Sunday September 13, 2020 at midnight. See below for the link to complete the survey.

I guess they got too many calls about it, from people like me. I didn't get the e-mail either, likely because I did the survey just after calling them about their laziness. However I also gave them generally good marks, and said 'probably' to moving money for .1% better, definitely for .3% better.

This can be explained by the fact that we in Ontario are in a different time zone from the folks in Western Canada, so September 02 in Ontario is actually August 02 in Alberta.Metric measure may also play a role.

And here I thought it was because the wagon trains have gotten so slow. Shortage of good horses, I hear...

..... The link in the email is meant for use only once & personalized. ......
Yes, the link is personalized to each member's identity, suggesting that if the survey questions were answered truthfully, Motive now has a profile that can be associated with the respondent.
I am not sure if I am impressed by Motive's ingenuity for acquiring additional information about their clients with a lure of a $250 prize, or dismayed by their deception by creating a "survey" that asks some cleverly designed questions about one's financial and personal status that is automatically linked to their identity.
I was never asked who I am for the draw.
That's right, because most surveys of this type are anonymous, and are identified only by an email address at the end, which may or may not be the same as the email address on record.
