You and the friend/relative etc each receive $50 when the referred person opens a membership and deposits $1000.
The referral form asks for your name, email and phone number.

Referred friend has to take referral to a BRANCH. Cannot be done online.

They also have an online promo that states "Receive $100 and our always competitive posted rate 1.50%, when you open a high interest savings account" My wife opened an account almost 2 weeks ago and is still waiting for the promo amount. When asked about it they arbitrarily stated the as per the offer conditions, promo amounts will only be paid on January 23rd. The promo conditions are nowhere to be found on their website. Very convenient.

At the bottom of the page where it says " terms and Conditions " . You have to click on that link since the small print under the link are not the terms and conditions. I had to phone them and ask them because although it is right there I also didn't make the connection to click the link because of the small print below it. You might be in for a surprise if you didn't sign up according to those terms and conditions.

You might have to hover your pointer just above the 1.5% at the beginning of the fine print to make the link visible.

The offer is awarded on the condition that the recipient agrees to keep the awarded funds on deposit with Meridian for at least 90 days from the deposit date of the awarded funds as noted above in Section 4, and therefore these funds are not available for withdrawal or other use by the recipient until that time.
Basically you are agreeing to have a 3 months GIC to get the $100. 1.5% interest.
I wouldn't put more than $1000.01 But I am already a Meridian customer.
