We were on vacation, just got back. My wife's GIC was opened on March 8th, so Tangerine did not take long to transfer the money out, which is great. However, the GIC certificate - sent to us through a secure message - is an MS Word document - UNSIGNED - called Term Deposit Receipt.
Jim, is this what you got, as well? Or was it a signed PDF?
yes, my Wife's was the former ... just an attachment to a regular email (Gmail), which I don't consider secure. ie. No Login involved.
Mine was done a little later, in order to include a maturing GIC at the sending FI, so I asked the Meridian rep to just make a copy for me to pick up at the nearby branch, which I did last week.

Thanks for getting back to me Jim.
