True ⬆
But if you don't choose to have the ISA interest 'reinvested', it just gets dumped into the regular cash balance in your investment account, and earns No interest there.
That's why most folks always choose the 'reinvest' option for ISA interest payments.
Choose Wisely.

I chose the cash option.....assuming it will swept into my 'income' brokerage account that's set up for my dividends to be automatically transferred to my non brokerage chequing account twice a month. We'll see if that's the case....not sure if it will be. I like getting the cash though either way. Then I can either reinvest it....spend it....whatever.

As of Today Oct 6 TDDI has failed to pay interest on TDB8150 for the period ending Sept 30 2023. Normally it pay on the first of the month.
The CSR I spoke to has said this is a known issue and no indication of when it will be fixed .
This is not the first time TDDI has failed to pay dividends or interest on investments.
This is not acceptable especially for those relying on this interest to pay bills etc.
I say shame on TD !

Thanks for posting your findings. I was planning to call today. Hope it gets resolved soon and never happens again.

It is an acknowledged TDDI glitch this month getting the interest payments delivered on a timely basis for the month of September, as reported at both Financial Wisdom Forum and Canadian Money Forum. There is no risk in not getting paid.
Normally, the interest would show up on Oct 3rd or 4th, first or second business day after the end of the month, and backdated appropriately. For the ISAs we hold at RBC DI, Scotia iTrade and BMO Investorline, September interest was posted on Oct 3rd and/or 4th.

I have to wonder, what kind of "glitch" suddenly sprang up in September, when previous months were OK ? What ill-considered changes did TD make? I assume it was internal as no explanation has been offered.
Apparently TD is no more reliable than Hubert in this regard, but at least Hubert had a credible excuse, sent an email, and got the problem fixed in a more timely fashion.
All our Sept interest has been restored at Hubert but spouse is still waitingg for TDDI.

I called TDDI to complain about the missing interest payment on TDB8150 and asked about good will compensation.
I was told that there was no way they would compensate me even if it was 1 or 2 free trades.
The CSR went on to say it may take a couple of weeks before they resolve all of the outstanding interest payments , but did say they would back date the interest to the first business day of Oct.
TD takes absolutely no responsibility for there screw up !

.
I just checked my TDDI accounts again. There's still no Sept. interest payments for my ISAs. And there's still no information about this Fiasco on their customer Message board ❗
However ... given that this is a 'Known' issue at TDDI, I'm sure it will all eventually 'Come-Out-In-The-Wash'.
I'd hate to be a TDDI CSR right now ... YIKES

If an investor has these things set on re-invested distributions, there should be no worry. Compounding will occur as if this glitch never happened.
For those taking their distributions in cash, well, that is why one has 'cash float' as a 'just in case' measure. The other option is to 'walk' from TDDI and go elsewhere.

And for TBD2913 money market fund, if I withdraw the money in the middle of the month, I loss half month interest ? (dividend end of the month for share holder only) is it correct?
Thanks for the information.

Not to speak for Peter, the site's owner, but discount brokerages, and getting free money for opening an account at one, aren't really in his remit. No one goes to big-banks for high interest savings!
There's a thread "Brokerage Investment Savings Accounts" where one of the forum members posts updated interest rates for the Investment Savings Accounts (ISAs) which financial institutions provide through the brokerage channel.

Maintain the assets in your new account until June 30, 2024 and receive the reward by August 31, 2024.
I would be really cautious if I saw wording like this. HSBC tried to pull a similar stunt with me and forced me to leave my funds with them for an additional year at a horrible rate with this kind of promo. Something about 'maintaining funds for 1 year after promotion is paid or else it is clawed-back.' Be wary.
