Bitcoin and ethereum sink as China intensifies crackdown on cryptocurrencies. China leading the world.

Weren't we taught it's illegal to debase gov issued currency.

They call it "fiat" to devalue it's name.

Still I wonder if crypto is bad for speculators..

BUD: "Fiat" just means that its value is declared by a directive (not the car). Is it illegal to devalue fiat currency? I'm not sure what you mean by "devalue." Governments can and do devalue their own currencies, or let the market do it for them.

Cryptocurrencies, like rare coins, art or stamps (or used cars) are worth exactly what you can find someone willing to pay.

Fed Powell said he wouldn't regulate crapto at first i thought that's good for then I realize they are willing to let it fall to zero without any gov liability.
