Frankly, I don’t know much about bitcoins, but I do know they are surging and a bitcoin fund may appeal to you. My wife has bought into The Bitcoin Fund (TSX:QBTC) and soon she will add CI Galaxy Bitcoin Fund (TSX:BTCH.UN). I myself only have loose change in a fund that regroups companies that mine for bitcoins, namely: Blockchain Technologies ETF (TSX:HBLK). It’s an easy way to get into the bitcoin market.

I don't know anything about these bitcoin(btc) funds. What I do know is; money is pouring into bitcoin from institutional investers like there's no tomorrow.

PayPal embracing btc definitely sparked this recent frenzy.

Outlandish forcasts from 75K cad to 200K per btc, this year, are being thrown about. Btc is $49,600.00 CAD this morning.

There will never be more than 21 million btc. There is less than 2500 left to mine.
As an early adopter I'm swooning presently.

Good for you mmlt, you are a head of most of us. Nevertheless, a bitcoin / blockchain fund is an easy way to get in on the action. Just today, I was listening to CNBC and they said that the bitcoin market is still expected to zoom upward. It’s not too late to get on the bandwagon.

Personally, I would be wary of jumping in now. While I think the upside is huge over time, the quick buck scenario is risky.

Yes, it is. So does current financial market, precious metals, and lottery tickets.
No, I am not sarcastic.

Yet, people still pour money in those.

Why not? Every week there is a story about someone who won tons of money playing lottery. Which is not different from story "wise investor got rich."

No argument there.

Just saying, the factual answer to the question "why not" with the appropriate lottery example you gave, is, as Carnac the Magnificent would have likely said, "how many people are there in the world?" 😀

I wish Bitcoin would go away. Its not even embarrassed by itself, it even sounds like what it is, a scam. I keep waiting for that smartass Muskox to lose millions, or is that billions these days.

Every once in a while, I take out and hold the gold coins I bought a few years ago to get me through the apocalypse. Do you get the same feeling when you hold your bitcoins in your hand?

Got a good chuckle from a comment of an analyst on Bloomberg: "If you think you understand bitcoin or whatever you think bitcoin is, it isn't". LOL...
Seems I'm not the only one who is bewildered by what bitcoin is exactly but I did take a small position with QBTC just in case there is something to the hype.

For sure.

When that fellow on the street gives you a kickass deal on the CN tower, you can whip your phone out and buy it on the spot with bitcoin.

Catherine Wood is very bullish with Bitcoin, thinking that it is the reserve currency among cryptocurrency, and it is also the digital gold that hedge against fiat currency.

All of a sudden a couple weeks ago like it was planned Bitcon became front page news like Gamestop weeks earlier. It became clearer regulators were cracking down. Now the same could be happening to Bit a set up for a takedown.
