I have taken over my MIL’s income tax preparation. Previously was done by an accountant and the package included a real handy summary of T Slips, by number, source, and amounts. This I found handy to know what ones more or less I would need this year and would be a good reminder for next years Tax preparation.

Does Studio Tax have this? If yes, where?

I really like Studio Tax but find it awkward to print specific pages or schedules. Currently I turn the whole file into a PDF and then print the print the pages I need. Is there a better way?

You can print individual forms by selecting "print" and then "individual forms" and "next" and "next" and then select one or more forms. I looked briefly at the available forms and did not see one that would print T slip info. For that you may have to continue to print the entire return and then reprint the T slip info that is printed, when you select "for your records".

Thank you.

I have an iMac. There is a print option in Studio Tax and one on the top bar of my iMac. Neither allow individual forms. Just the whole package. See pic...this is what I get.

Is it possible to Netfile with Studio Tax? I have a friend that has used it for years.

Your records are in the tax program. I like the fact that the FI reports the slips to CRA. You can download them at the end of April. No chance of missing any.

Not sure what you mean "in the tax program". Do you mean on the hard drive on my computer? Yes they are.....not in a cloud some where. That is why I use Studio Tax and not a cloud based product. I changed over to Studio Tax from Turbo Tax as Turbo Tax for Mac sucked.

As far as auto fill. I tried once last year. Some T slips missing and would not auto fill at all for my wife. So I do all manually. I did NOT even bother trying this year. There IS a chance of missing a T slip.

Yes in the tax program means the data file created by the program. I have used Turbo Tax for Windows for years. Quick Tax before Turbo Tax. Some FI do not report until late April. I make sure I check after April 30th to be sure I included all slips. I do a reassessment if required. Easy to do via My Account at CRA. Good this year. I agree several years ago some slips missed. It takes time for smaller FI to setup the downloads to CRA. Give it a try next year if you have completed this year.

Must be Eastern techno babble. Here in the west I would call it a program that generates a file of which both reside on the hard drive on my computer. sf-surprised And yes me too Turbo Tax and Quick Tax and something else before that. The only time I paid for the service was with H&R Block....screwed up....then screwed up the fix up...and never again!!! I wrote letters to Calgary head office...full refund and coupons...then local group sent a sucky apology and more coupons.....all hit the trash bucket. To be honest there is NO excuse to not have the T slip submitted to CRA on or before when we are supposed to receive the paper copy.

Studio tax is ok. They respond quickly to your questions. The only thing I miss is when you link your returns for spouse you have to enter interest on both returns.
I have made notes that I refer to and update every year.

select "for your records"
create pdf
then i hit "next" a number of times and then i named and saved the file.

Not sure if this will help but in the upper left corner choose: Tools/T Slips Batch edit... & then select the type of T slip wanted.

If you are able to see the page you want and don't know how to print it?
Under your print options, you have choices. Ever see, Landscape or portrait? There will be a print, ALL pages, select pages (1 to 9999) or current page.

Just print the page you are viewing.

Thanks Kidd, dommm, and cruzinalomg.

I found it, the summary, and have seen it before! I feel dumb for asking.

So I took the more informative format from the accountants tax software and put things in order as per the Studio Tax format line numbers and some of my wanted information into my own excel spreadsheet. So now I have a summary to double check against actual tax form for accuracy and a form that will show me what T slips to expect next year and from whom as well. Any one want a copy?

I will try your printing options soon on my iMac. So far just making the personal and government copies into PDF and printing the desired pages from there works.

I know I have copy and pasted PDF to excel.....but it won’t work....well it does but won’t fall into columns and rows properly.

So you are talking about Studio Tax 2019 as I see same T Slip Summary
Are you using a Mac? Or a Windows device?
Did you make the full file into PDF and then just print the pages you wanted?

I don't see PDF at File Top Left see my screens. Screen-Shot-2020-04-28-at-2.23.24-PM.pngScreen-Shot-2020-04-28-at-2.24.02-PM.pngScreen-Shot-2020-04-28-at-2.24.11-PM.png

I am using windows 10 with studio tax 2019. I made the entire pdf file. I didn't print any pages because i did this procedure just to answer your question. BUT i know without doubt that i could print any page, selected pages or all the pages if i wished to. see post #12, use your print options.

Under "FILE" not "Tools" i have many options. I will go to my pc and take a few screen shots for you.

Thanks Kidd.

Obviously the Mac version is not as deluxe as Windows version.
