I logged into Implicity Financial online banking and noticed they've matched their other competitors' rate rises to 1.90%. One thing I like about them is they don't make a big splashy deal and issue a press release every time they raise or lower their rates by a measly 10 bps (i.e., Hubert Financial, PC Financial and ING Direct, to name a few). They just make what I call a "competitive marketplace rate adjustment" and move forward. Unless you're offering a substantially different posted rate or some sort of "spring savings" promotion, it's not necessary to advertise to the world the rise or dip in rates of 20 bps or less.
Good for you, Implicity!
Cheers,
Doug

Doug:
I received an email on May 1st advising the rate was changing. I expected that all account holders received the same email.
There is an "unsubscribe from this list" link at the bottom of the email so perhaps I did set a setting to subscribe at some point.

Nothing could be further from the truth. After over a year, they have consistently offered the best rates on GIC's and savings. Hubert continued to move rates around but Implicity has shown itself to be one of the best in rate offerings and predictability.
CDF has been offering much lower GIC rates than Implicity and PTC rates have consistently been lower.
