Not necessarily, S2R; the text posted by gamgam is taken from the email sent by Ideal Savings.

To avoid confusion, it should have been posted using the b-quote tool to show it as a quote, along with mentioning the source.

It's getting just a little confusing on the HISA rates at Ideal - from their website -

Rates are effective December 14, 2017. All rates are calculated on a per annum basis and are subject to change without notice. *The New Deposit Special will be offered for a limited time only. The 2.50% rate will be guaranteed until April 30, 2018 only on new funds deposited to Ideal Savings to a new qualifying account. To qualify, the New Deposit Special account must be opened during the period when the 2.50% product is being promoted on http://www.idealsavings.ca/rates, which is subject to change at any time. Effective November 1, 2017 the rates for all existing Ideal Savings accounts are as follows: the Ideal Savings Special 2.50%, guaranteed to December 31, 2017, has been extended to be guaranteed to April 30, 2018; the Ideal Savings Special 2.30%, guaranteed to December 31, 2017; has been changed to a rate of 2.50% and guaranteed to December 31, 2018; the Ideal Savings Special 2.25%, guaranteed to December 31, 2017, has been changed to a rate of 2.50% and guaranteed to December 31, 2018; and, the regular Ideal Savings rate is 2.00%.

Can anyone share their experience with moving money out of Ideal back to their FI? I currently have $500K at Simplii but have not got a rate extension offer so am looking at moving to Ideal (my Tang is already maxed) instead. I just don't want to move to Ideal and then have a hassle to get money out in a coupe months.

I move money in and out of Ideal using Simplii and Tangerine. The transactions post at Ideal the same day that Simplii and Tang post the transaction. I can't wrap my head around having to email or call Ideal to initiate a transaction from their side.
