I had not looked at my Ideal Savings HISA for some time, and was surprised to see they are paying 3.6% currently. The table still lists it at 1.01%. Over to Peter!

From https://www.carpathiacu.mb.ca/Personal/Rates/ChequingAndSavings/

Balance $0 to $9,999.99 3.60%
$10,000 to $149,999 3.65%
$150,000 and Over 3.80%

I do note that the idealsavings.ca website is having issues; one needs to use the http://www.carpathiacu.mb.ca/ to access the Ideal accounts. It looks like Ideal has been absorbed into Carpathia/Access? Confusing.

Ideal Savings has always been the online division of Carpathia credit union.

Carpathia credit union has recently agreed to merge in to Access credit union.

My guess is that they have changed the rate to 3.6% to match Hubert (which was the online division of Sunova credit union, which merged into Access as well). Most likely they will fold the accounts into Hubert like they did with Accelerate (which was the online division of Crosstown Civic credit union, which merged... see a trend here? sf-confused )

Thanks for pointing this out!

I asked Ideal Savings about this. Their response:

[...] thank you for notice about the rate difference, right now the rate is 3.6% so our website is incorrect, we were aware of it and are working to rectify the issue.

They will be disappearing; that's confirmed. I'd honestly recommend just removing them from the chart now. Their members will be Hubert Financial members in short order. sf-cool

Ideal savings will be around for a while yet... according to the merger website, their integration date has not been set yet. Its kind of a toss up decision, keeping them on the list would be a helpful reference for existing account holders, but deleting them now would prevent new sign-ups that will most likely convert to Hubert/Access in a year or less.

Yes. Their banking system is identical to the Crosstown Civic and Noventis, which were integrated into the Access system well over a year ago. Thus, I do not expect integration to take that long. I suspect integration will occur between January 1 and April 1. sf-cool
