Today I used the two factor login. I used the text me a code option.
Note the phone number...it is NOT mine! How would Hubert text me from a BC 604 number?
Also see the new and improved website...look at the large page of information about a specific GIC. Couldn’t they add one line showing what is the direction for the GIC at maturity?

The Reverse phone number look-up function at canada411 shows that this phone number belongs to:
Provider: Iristel Inc.
Usage: Landline
Country: Canada
Location: North Vancouver, BC
Weren't you looking for a reseller? You could phone the number and see what they do. Perhaps Hubert has outsourced a function to them?

Iristel handles a good amount of the number of VoIP numbers for Canada as they have a far reach across the country. Providers like voip.ms and others use them. SMS can also be added to these numbers so they can be used for sending and receiving text messages.
Hubert is most likely using a provider that gives them an easy ability to send text messages, and this provider in turn uses Iristel.

Hi file. My concern was the text was coming from a BC area code and not the Manitoba 204 or 431.
Good to know about VoIP.ms. I thought they were big, strong and stood on their own 2 feet!!!
I use Voip.ms and wouldn’t go back to a wired line. I am glad that I have accomplished the programming to make the phone do, what I have heard it can do. I did some programming at work years ago and they, voip.ms, are very good at helping you out too.

Some text focused providers will have pools of numbers across various locations, so when you send a message it just chooses one out of the pool for that specific message at that point in time. Others will just assign one out with no geographic relevance to the customer. As well the short numbers you see on text messages can also be done, but cost extra money.
As for voip.ms standing on their own two feet - doing all of the work to have wide phone number coverage is expensive, so few do it. It's just cheaper to go to the wholesale carriers who do it and buy from them. It can be annoying at times if you're having an issue, since your VoIP provider then has to go up the chain and such.
